Features
Feature Overview
AtroCore is an open-source Business Application Platform for companies whose data does not fit a standard product. The sections below cover what the platform includes: how you model your business objects, how data reaches the platform and leaves it again, how quality and stewardship are kept up over time, how assets and documents are managed and generated, how processes are automated, and how access is controlled. Most of it is configured in the administration interface rather than programmed, which is why the same platform serves master data management, product information, digital assets and applications you build yourself. Features marked as Premium Module are available in addition to the open-source core.
Data Modeling
Model your business objects the way they actually exist in your company. Entities, fields, attributes and relations are configured in the administration interface and take effect immediately, without code changes or a release cycle. The same model serves master data, product data, assets and any other domain you add later.
- Entities for any business object you need, from products, customers and suppliers to machines, contracts or spare parts, created in the admin panel without programming
- Inheritance lets child records take values from their parent and override only what differs, which keeps variant and family structures maintainable
- Fields of more than 30 types, including text, numeric, date, enum, link, file, JSON and script fields, each with its own validation and display behavior
- Data Types that cover technical, commercial and descriptive data, with additional specialized types available in the Premium Module
- Attributes as flexible characteristics assigned per record or per classification, so you avoid a table with hundreds of rarely used columns
- Attribute Groups that organize large attribute sets into readable tabs and panels for data stewards
- Dynamic Properties that appear or stay hidden depending on the values of other fields, keeping input screens relevant to the record at hand
- Relations of any cardinality, one to one, one to many and many to many, between any two entities in your model
- Relation Properties that store data on the link itself, such as quantity, validity period, sort order or role
- Taxonomies for hierarchical structures like categories, product groups, regions or organizational units, reusable across entities
- Classifications that assign a defined set of attributes to a record type, with extended classification logic in the Premium Module
- Multilingual and Locale-specific Values at field level, so one record carries all languages and market variants instead of being duplicated
- Units and Currencies handled as structured values rather than free text, which keeps numeric data comparable and convertible
- Metadata Management for the model itself, including labels, tooltips, descriptions and translations of every entity and field
- Source and Staging Entities that hold incoming supplier or system data separately until it is validated, matched and promoted to the master record
Integration
AtroCore sits between your ERP, your shop systems, your marketplaces and your suppliers, and keeps data moving in both directions. Connections, field mappings and transformation rules are configured in the interface, so a new source or channel does not require a development project.
- Import Feeds that define source, format, field mapping, matching key and update behavior once and then run again on every new file or request
- Export Feeds that deliver exactly the fields, languages, channels and record sets a given target system expects
- Uni- and Bidirectional Sync so a system can act as a pure source, a pure target, or both, with clear rules on which side wins per field
- File Formats including CSV, XLSX, XML, JSON and TXT, read and written without external conversion tools
- File Transfer by manual upload and download in the interface, with automated FTP and SFTP exchange available in the Premium Module
- Real-time Sync for cases where a scheduled run is not fast enough, available in the Premium Module
- Configurable API Requests that call REST, GraphQL or OData endpoints of third party systems with parameters, headers and authentication defined in the configuration
- Configurable Database Queries that read directly from an external database when no usable interface exists, available in the Premium Module
- Transformations applied before import and before export, covering value mapping, splitting, merging, calculation, unit conversion and formatting, with an extended rule set in the Premium Module
- Export Filters that restrict a feed to a channel, market, status, completeness level or any other condition in your data
- Feed Orchestration to run several imports and exports in a defined sequence with dependencies between the steps
- Event-based and Scheduled Execution, triggered by a data change, an incoming request or a time plan
- ERP Integration with SAP, SAP Business One, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Infor and others, typically for articles, prices, stock and order data
- E-Commerce Integration with Shopware, Shopify, Magento and Adobe Commerce, SAP Commerce Cloud and other shop and CMS platforms
- Marketplace Integration with Amazon, Otto and comparable platforms, including status and content feedback from the marketplace
- Import Error Management that reports rejected rows with the reason, lets you correct the cause and repeat the run without duplicating what already succeeded
- Detailed Logs for every import and export, showing what ran, when, with which result and which records were created, updated or skipped
User Experience and Collaboration
Master data work is team work. Several people maintain the same records, in different roles, often in different departments and locations. AtroCore gives each of them a view that fits their task, keeps changes visible to everyone involved, and moves discussion into the record instead of into email threads.
- Configurable Dashboards assembled from dashlets per user or per role, showing open tasks, recent changes, incomplete records or any list that matters to that person
- Stored and Shared Filters that save a complex search once and make it available to a colleague or a whole team as a named view
- Selections that hold a defined set of records across sessions, so a working list can be built up over time and then edited, exported or processed as a batch
- Bulk Editing of many records in one action, including mass update of a field value, mass linking and mass removal of relations
- Global Search across entities, with direct access to a record from any screen
- Favorites and Bookmarks for the records and lists a user returns to every day
- Mentions and Comments directly on the record, which keeps the reason for a change next to the change itself and reaches the right colleague through a notification
- Following of individual records or whole entities, so a product manager learns about a price change or a new supplier document without asking for it
- Notification Profiles that define per role which events reach which user, in the interface or by email, to keep the signal useful
- Sharings that give files and record data to recipients outside the system through a link, without creating an account for them
- Reports for evaluations across your data, with results displayed on dashboards and available for export, provided by the Premium Module
- Layout Profiles that give each role its own arrangement of panels, fields and columns, so a translator, a technical editor and a buyer each see what they need
- Record Preview Templates built with HTML and CSS to show a record as it will appear in a datasheet, on a shop page or in a print layout
- Mobile-friendly Interfaces that work in the browser on tablets and phones, for approvals, lookups and photo documentation away from the desk
Data Lifecycle and Stewardship
Data enters your company from suppliers, ERP systems, shops and spreadsheets, and it rarely arrives clean or complete. AtroCore covers the full path from first delivery to trusted master record, and keeps that record correct while people, systems and requirements around it keep changing. This is master data management as a working process, not as a one-time project.
- Onboarding of new data from suppliers, acquisitions or legacy systems into staging entities, where it can be checked before it touches your master data
- Record Matching that compares incoming records against existing ones using configurable rules on identifiers, names, attributes and fuzzy criteria, with thresholds you control to prevent both missed duplicates and false matches
- Record Clusters that group all records identified as the same real-world object, from any number of source systems, and keep the source records intact and traceable
- Golden Records as the single validated version of a customer, supplier, product or material, assembled from the cluster and published to the systems that consume it
- Merge and Survivorship Rules that decide per field which source wins, by system priority, recency, completeness or a manual decision, so consolidation is reproducible instead of ad hoc
- Conflict Resolution for the cases rules cannot settle, presented to a data steward with the competing values, their sources and their timestamps side by side
- Enrichment of records with attributes, translations, media, classifications and relations, either manually, from an external source or through automated rules
- Ongoing Maintenance supported by work lists of incomplete, outdated or unapproved records, so stewardship happens continuously rather than in an annual cleanup
- State Transitions that move a record through defined stages such as draft, in review, approved and archived, with rules on who may perform which transition
- Approvals that require a defined role to confirm a record or a change before it becomes effective or is published to a channel
- Change Requests that let users and external contributors propose a change without direct write access, for review and release by a responsible owner, provided by the Premium Module
- Change History for every record, showing which field was changed, from which value to which value, by whom and at what time
- Versioning that stores complete record states over time and makes it possible to compare two points in time, provided by the Premium Module
- Value Restoration that returns a single field or a whole record to an earlier state when a change turns out to be wrong
- Lineage Tracking that shows for each value in a golden record which source system, feed and run it came from, which is what makes an audit or a data dispute answerable
DAM and Document Generation
Assets and documents live in the same data model as everything else. An image, a certificate or a manual is linked to the product, supplier or machine it belongs to, and the same permissions, filters and workflows apply to it. Templates then turn that data and those assets into datasheets, catalogs and PDFs without a detour through a separate design tool.
- Digital Assets of any kind, including images, videos, CAD files, manuals, certificates and marketing material, held centrally and linked to the records they belong to
- File Management with folders, bulk upload, drag and drop, and replacement of a file while all links to it stay intact
- Asset Types that separate a product image from a logo, a datasheet or a packaging photo, each with its own fields and its own rules
- Validations per asset type on file format, resolution, color mode, aspect ratio and file size, so unusable files are rejected at upload instead of at print
- Asset Metadata using the same fields, attributes and taxonomies as the rest of the platform, which makes assets searchable and filterable by rights, campaign, market or expiry date
- Cloud Storages configurable per storage location, so large asset volumes stay outside the application server while remaining addressable from every record
- Renditions generated automatically in the sizes, crops and formats each shop, marketplace or print channel expects, provided by the Premium Module
- Conversions between file formats and color spaces, for example a print file into a web-ready image, provided by the Premium Module
- Documents as managed objects with type, validity period, responsible owner and links to products, suppliers or machines, provided by the Premium Module
- HTML and CSS Templates that define the layout of an output document with web technologies, editable by anyone who knows CSS rather than only by a designer
- Office Templates filled with live record data, for cases where the result has to arrive as an editable Word or Excel file
- PDF Generation that renders a template together with current data and assets into a finished file, on demand or for a whole selection of records, provided by the Premium Module
- Datasheets and Catalogs produced directly from the data model, so a corrected value in a record reaches the next generated document without manual rework
- Flyers and Brochures built from the same templates for campaigns, trade fairs and individual customer requests
- Multilingual and Channel-specific Output from one template, producing the same document per language, market or customer without maintaining separate layouts
Data Quality
Bad data is expensive at the far end of the process, in returned shipments, rejected marketplace listings, wrong quotes and support calls. AtroCore moves the check to the point of entry and keeps it running afterwards, so problems surface while someone can still fix them cheaply. Rules are configured per entity, field and channel, without programming.
- Validation Rules on field level that reject or flag a value the moment it is entered or imported, with an extended rule set and more complex conditions in the Premium Module
- Required Fields defined per entity, per classification, per channel or per state, so a record can be incomplete as a draft and complete before it is published
- Conditional Requirements where a field becomes mandatory only when other values make it relevant, for example a hazardous goods class on a product marked as dangerous
- Regular Expressions for pattern-bound values such as EAN and GTIN codes, article numbers, part numbers and internal identifier schemes
- Duplicate Control that checks new and imported records against existing ones on the fields you define, before a second version of the same object enters your data
- Suggested Values offered from existing data, connected records or defined lists, which reduces spelling variants and free-text entries
- Scripted Default Values that prefill a field from other values in the record or from a related record, so obvious information is not typed again
- Standardization of formats, units, spellings and value lists, applied on import and during transformation, so data from different sources becomes comparable
- Cleansing of existing records through mass update, transformation rules and work lists that group all records with the same defect
- Profiling of a data set to show fill rates per field, value distributions, outliers and unexpected formats, which is usually where a quality project starts
- Quality Checks that run across the whole data set on a schedule and collect every violation into a list a data steward can work through, provided by the Premium Module
- Quality Scorings that express completeness and correctness as a figure per record, per channel or per assortment, and make progress visible over time, provided by the Premium Module
- Monitoring through dashboards, saved filters and notifications, so a drop in quality is noticed when it happens rather than at the next audit
- Completeness per Channel measured against what each target system actually requires, because a record can be complete for your ERP and incomplete for a marketplace
BPM and Automation
Most of the work around master data is repetitive and rule-bound. A record reaches a certain state, so a notification goes out, a field is filled, an export runs, a colleague is asked to review. AtroCore turns those rules into configuration instead of into habits or into custom code, and the same mechanism drives simple field defaults and complete multi-step approval processes.
- Event Triggers that start an automation on a concrete occurrence, for example a record created, a field changed to a specific value, a relation added or an import finished, provided by the Premium Module
- Scheduled Jobs that run imports, exports, checks, recalculations and cleanups on a time plan, from every few minutes to monthly
- Conditions that decide whether an automation applies, evaluated against field values, related records, user role, state or the result of an earlier step
- Configurable Actions assembled in the interface and reused across triggers, buttons and workflows, with an extended configuration in the Premium Module
- Action Types covering notifications and emails, field updates, record creation, relation changes, calling an external API, starting an export and running a script, with additional types in the Premium Module
- Configurable Workflows that model a process across several steps and roles, including branches, parallel paths and waiting states, with extended modeling options in the Premium Module
- Configurable Buttons placed on a record or a list view to start a defined action manually, so a data steward triggers a process without leaving the record, extended in the Premium Module
- Conditional Values that are calculated or set automatically from other data in the record, rather than typed and kept in sync by hand
- Scripted Logic for the cases configuration cannot express, written once and then available like any other action, with a wider scripting scope in the Premium Module
- Dynamic Interfaces where panels, fields and buttons appear according to the state of the record and the role of the user, so each step of a process shows only what that step needs
- Task Management that assigns work to a person or a team with a due date and a link to the record in question, and tracks whether it was done, provided by the Premium Module
- AI Assistance for tasks such as auto-tagging assets, translating field values, generating descriptions and proposing classifications, with a broader set of AI-supported operations in the Premium Module
- Job Manager as the central overview of everything running or queued, with status, duration, result and error detail per run
- Execution Logging that records which automation ran on which record, with which outcome, which is what makes an automated process auditable rather than opaque
Governance and Access
Master data touches purchasing, product management, marketing, sales and IT, and not everyone should see or change everything. AtroCore controls access down to the single field, records who did what, and runs on your own infrastructure if your compliance requirements ask for it. Access is granted by role, not bought per seat.
- Unlimited Users without per-seat license fees, so read access for a whole sales organization or an external agency is a configuration decision rather than a budget decision
- Unlimited Teams to reflect departments, brands, markets, subsidiaries or project groups in the permission structure
- Flexible Role Management where each role is defined by what it may read, create, edit and delete, per entity and per action, and a user can hold several roles
- Field-level Permissions that make a single field readable, editable or invisible per role, for example purchase prices visible to purchasing and hidden from the translation team
- Record-level Access derived from ownership, team assignment or field values, so a supplier portal user or a country organization sees only the records that concern them
- Ownership that names a responsible person or team per record, which is what makes accountability for data quality assignable rather than collective
- Assignments that hand a record or a task to a specific user with a notification, and keep the current responsibility visible on the record
- Policies that define access rules centrally and apply them consistently across entities instead of being repeated in every role
- Single Sign-On with OpenID Connect for Microsoft Entra ID, Keycloak and comparable identity providers, so accounts, passwords and offboarding stay in your existing directory, provided by the Premium Module
- LDAP Authentication against an existing directory service for environments that authenticate this way, provided by the Premium Module
- Activity Logs showing which user opened, changed, exported or deleted which data, and when
- API Access Control so integrations and external systems act under their own identity with their own restricted permissions, not with a shared administrator account
- Self-hosting on your own servers or in a data center you choose, which keeps the location of your data and its access paths under your control
- Open Source under a permissive license, so the code can be reviewed, audited and kept running independently of a single vendor
- GDPR Support through deletion and export of personal data, documented access rights and a complete change history for accountability requirements
