We’ve improved how script fields work in AtroCore to make them faster, more reliable, and easier to understand.

Script fields are special fields that automatically calculate values based on rules or scripts, for example, combining information from other fields, doing calculations, or generating data automatically.

Until now, these fields ran their scripts every time someone opened a record. This sometimes made things slower and meant you couldn’t sort, filter, or easily view those values in lists.

With the latest update, the results of script fields are now saved directly in the database, just like any other field. That means they’re always available instantly and can be used throughout the system.

Here’s what’s new and why it matters:

  • Script results appear immediately when viewing or exporting data.
  • You can now filter, sort, and search using these values.
  • Data loads faster, with less waiting time.

The system will now automatically update script results whenever a record changes or the script itself is modified. If something hasn’t been calculated yet, AtroCore will update it the next time you open the record.

We’ve also added a daily background job that checks for any missing values and updates them automatically. And if you want to refresh the result manually, there’s now a refresh button inside the field.

With these improvements, script fields now work just like regular fields, but with the added power of automation. This means more speed, more consistency, and less manual work for AtroCore users.
