Managing relationships between records just got more powerful and flexible. With this update, Associated Records can now be used with any entity in your system — making it easier to link, compare, and manage connected data across the board.
To enable this, simply activate the "has Associates" checkbox in the entity configuration. Once enabled, that entity supports structured associations that follow clear logic and automation.
From Now On
- Entity-wide Associations: Any entity can now support associated records.
- Default Association: Only one association per entity can be marked as default; it's applied automatically when a new link is created.
- Bidirectional Linking: When a backward association is defined, reciprocal links are created automatically.
- Full Network Option: A special setting allows you to associate every record with every other record in the group.
- Streamlined Interface: Associations appear in a dedicated panel for each record, separate from related records.
Unified and Smarter Record Management
This feature also improves how associated records are used across the platform. Tools like Comparison View, Merge Records, Duplicate Detection, and Stream View are now fully compatible with the new standard, making it easier to manage connections and identify data overlaps.
In addition, older features like "Associated Products" have been migrated to this new model for consistency and future scalability.
What It Means for Your Business
This update brings consistency and automation to record relationships, helping teams:
- Save time through automatic linking
- Maintain cleaner, more accurate data
- Handle complex relationships more intuitively
- Use advanced tools like merge and compare with ease
Overall, it simplifies your workflows and supports smarter, more connected data management across your system.
